Five women still in the run and actor Kevin Pollack busts out
When the action resumed on Day 5 of the 43rd World Series of Poker main event, with 282 players still in the game, the Shuffle Up and Deal call was given by tournament director Jack Effel and three-time WSOP bracelet veteran Perry Green (72).
Five women started and lasted through the day – two of them, Winamax pro Gaelle Baumann and Elisabeth Hille, up in the major chip stacks. The other three who got to the last 97 standing in the competition after Day 5 include Marcia Topp, Vanessa Selbst and Susie Zhao.
An interesting fact is that a recreational player Jarrett Nash decided not to play on the Sabbath, so he didn’t show up and half way through the action saw his name declared as eliminated in 171st position.
Others that did not manage to stay in the competition are John Juanda, Andrew Lichtenberger J.P. Kelly, Freddy Deeb, Brian Meinders and Daniel Negreanu, who was eliminated by actor Kevin Pollack, who later on busted out himself on the 134th position.
Another two with less luck on this day were Marcel Luske who got eliminated in the closing stages of the day, and Joseph Cheong.
