Kenny Hsiung wins his first bracelet besting a number of experienced players

30-year-old Kenny Hsiung won the main prize of $165,205 and his first bracelet besting among others Justin Bonomo, WSOP main event champ Josh Duhamel, Vladimir Shchmelev, Chad Brown and Dwyte Pilgrim in the Event 48 $3,000 buy-in Limit Hold’em contest of this years World Series of Poker.

Three days ago, the field was entered by 247 poker pros to see a relatively unknown pro player from Cincinatti,Ohio emerge victorious after a fourteen-hour tough and hard battle at the final table.

When the heads up started at 1.30 in the morning, Hsiung held a 3 to 1 chip advantage over his last opponent, Robert Hwang, a well-known online player a.k.a quot;ActionBobquot; who fought his way back, starting a two hour see-saw battle where the lead shifted several times between the two tough rivals.

In the end, lack of Hwang’s cards opened up the path for Hsiung to get ahead long enough to win the game and eliminate his respectable opponent with a runner-up prize of $102,118.
