24-year-old Florida pro wins Event 46
Joey Weissman of Florida won this years World Seris of Poker Event 46 – $2,500 buy-in No-Limit Hold’em entered by 1,607 players after the exhausting nine-hour final table and a tough heads-up game against Jeremy Quehen of Nice, France.
This is the first WSOP bracelet for the young 24-year-old poker pro who also took home the main prize of $694,609 on Wednesday.
Weissman played very-well dominating the final table to reach the heads up at Level 31 holding more than 2 to 1 chip advantage, but the Quehen remained focused and even managed to take the lead at one point.
After three hours of demanding heads-up battle, the Frenchmen was finally eliminated with the justifiably high second prize of $429,535 at 3am local time with the blinds at 60,000-120,000 with a 15,000 ante.
